Golf instruction for all ages available at The Ranch Club

The line-up of available golf instructions at The Ranch Club further support the club as Missoula’s premiere family-friendly golf community. 2011 golf instruction options include the Mike Barnett Golf Academy offering group and individual lessons as well as two, six week sessions for Ladies, and three different sessions of Junior Golf Camp. Additionally, new for 2011 the club will be offering SNAG Golf for the newest of beginning golfers. Mike is synonymous with Missoula golf. Barnett was a golfing wunderkind, winning three state high school championships for Missoula Sentinel. He was the Montana State Amateur runner-up in 1967, at the young age of 15, and captured back-to-back State Amateur titles in 1974 and 1975 while playing for Arizona State. In addition to his teaching experience in Montana, Mike worked for more than a decade with the John Jacobs golf schools in Michigan, Alabama and Arizona.2011 offerings by the Mike Barnett Golf Academy include ½ hour and one-hour individual and group lessons; two, six-week Ladies Fundamentals Golf Classes (the first session begins June 1 and the second session begins July 20); and three different sessions of Junior Golf Camp (June 14, July 12 and August 9).In addition to the lessons available through the academy, new for 2011 The Ranch Club is offering SNAG Golf for the newest of beginning golfers. SNAG contains all the elements of golf but in a modified form and falls somewhere between miniature golf and regulation golf. SNAG allows for full shots, pitching, chipping, and putting, while utilizing Velcro targets and beginner-friendly equipment. SNAG offers immediate, positive results that keep new learners wanting to be further involved with golf.Golf at The Ranch Club includes an award-winning, links-style 18-hole golf course that was included in Golfweek magazine’s "Best Courses 2010." Golf facilities at The Ranch Club include a fully-staffed golf shop with PGA professionals, men’s and women’s locker rooms, and practice facilities that include a driving range with multiple targets, short game practice area, and putting green.
