Jon Kohler & Associates and Longpine Plantation Featured in The Wall Street Journal
Jon Kohler & Associates closed on Longpine, commonly ranked among the top five plantations in America for its wild quail, timber, and ecological wealth. The 5,850 +/- acre plantation was founded in 1888 by Wyman Jones and his wife Salome Chapin Jones, the two most influential people in shaping the 300,000-plus acres of historic quail plantations in the 22-mile stretch between Thomasville, Georgia and Tallahassee, Florida known as the Red Hills. In 1968, the family transferred the stewardship of Longpine to Josephine Ford, the only granddaughter of Henry Ford, who was its caretaker for nearly 40 years. The property sold for $28,080,000.The Wall Street Journal, Tallahassee Democrat and several other media outlets reported the sale.
