Missoulian interviews Adventure Life CEO about 'green' business

The Missoulian features "green" business practices in the April 2011 edition of Western Montana InBusiness Monthly and includes an interview with Brian Morgan, CEO of Adventure Life.Adventure travel with a focus on sustainability has been the driving force behind Adventure Life. Since Morgan founded Adventure Life in 1999, the company has looked for ways to offer the most environmentally friendly eco vacations.Morgan told reporter Jenna Cederberg:That phrase of "going green" dictates both the products we offer as well as our operating standards both here in Missoula and with our partners. For example, we always attempt to combine groups and share transportation, and this takes more coordination from both our Missoula and international offices. But in the end, we are more profitable since we don't have to hire out multiple vehicles, and we reduce carbon emissions.Adventure Life tries to leave little to no negative impact on its travel destinations, but always hopes to leave a positive impact. Staying at a remote, locally operated lodge supports the local economy and also makes for a better travel experience by allowing travelers to become more involved in host communities. In addition, Adventure Life reviews grassroots organizations in Central and South America as part of its micro-grant program.Adventure Life incorporates an educational element into its trips, employing local guides who can provide insight into the past, present and future of different regions. Post-trip, travelers often provide Adventure Life reviews, which let others know what to expect from tours with Adventure Life in terms of overall experience, quality of service, and how well they liked the native guides.Adventure Life is a small-group ecotour company based out of Missoula, Montana, that specializes in Central and South America adventure travel. Adventure Life’s trips explore local culture, ecology and life from remote villages, to bustling city markets, to the wildest jungles and mountains.
