Nobel Laureate joins The Antarctic Dream for January voyage

Dr. Steve Running, co-winner of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize and one of the leading authors of the 4th assessment report issued by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), will be onboard The Antarctic Dream’s January 17, 2010 departure. He will be offering lectures and presentations about global warming and other topics related to climate change during the voyage, and there are still cabins available for this departure.Dr. Running has worked for the University of Montana since 1979 and is the director of the College of Forestry and Conservation’s Numerical Terradynamic Simulation Group, which has crafted software for NASA environmental satellites.  He also helped compile data for Al Gore's award-winning film, An Inconvenient Truth.What distinguishes this 11 day/10 night expedition from most Antarctic cruises is the extraordinary, hands-on access to wildlife, glaciers and massive icebergs provided by the smaller vessel.
