Spring Island home featured in County’s Best Cabins

The August 2012 issue of “Country’s Best Cabins” includes a feature story about a home in the lowcountry golf community of Spring Island.In the article entitled, Concrete Cabin, the writer states:“Coastal Living calls to mind images of well-weathered, clapboard-sides cottages… Rarely does a colder, more urban material like concrete come into view. But that’s exactly what architect Peter Brower used to create his LEED-Platinum cabin in the Spring Island community of South Carolina.”Peter Brower was quoted saying, “There are many ways that you can approach trying to achieve a particular LEED certification. What we tried to do was to build a house as efficient as possible so that we didn’t need to go to wind, solar or geothermal energy to keep costs down.
