STRATOS Magazine features HomeWaters Club as a fishing getaway
In the August/September 2010 issue of STRATOS Magazine, HomeWaters Club is featured as an outdoors community for vacation homeowners.
With two locations, one in Pennsylvania and the other in Colorado, HomeWaters offers members of its private fly-fishing club access to miles of pristine rivers, some of which hold blue-ribbon trout and steelhead. HomeWaters Club also emphasizes stream and river conservation, reports Judy Kenninger:
In a twist from most projects, the club’s real estate offerings sprung from the desires of members who keep coming back year after year. “Real estate complements the fishing; we’re not developers,” says managing member Donny Beaver.
Next, the club will be constructing custom-built cabins for members who want a little more room, but Beaver points out that all development will be next to existing buildings. “We’re being careful to protect the wild resources,” he says.
Kenninger continues:
The real estate options start at $440,000, but all buyers must first join the club. “We want folks who are interested in the conservation aspects and want to make this a legacy in their estate planning,” Beaver says.
In addition to real estate, HomeWaters Club caters to any fishing skill level with instruction from its fly-fishing school and the use of the Lefty Kreh Fly Fishing Challenge Course. For anyone looking to improve their technique, HomeWaters University’s challenge course offers real-life fly-fishing situations at dry land, still water and moving water stations before members head out to HomeWaters' private fly fishing waters.
